Native to Charleston, S.C., Chef Jamie Simpson fell in love with the kitchen when he joined the highly celebrated Charleston Grill culinary team. During his tenure, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of Charleston, and furthered his education with travels as stagiaire to Michelin-starred hotels and restaurants throughout the world as an ambassador for Belmond Hotels. His path to The CVI began when he saw The Chef’s Garden boxes revered by the finest properties as he traversed the globe.

Chef Jamie Simpson’s epicurean curiosity explores all boundaries as he helms one of the most prestigious kitchens in the country. Since taking over the CVI kitchen in 2013, he has garnered international recognition for his inventive use of vegetables, artful plating style, and ability to tell the story of full product utilization.

Our commitment is to grow exceptional vegetables, care for each other and the land, and inspire a vegetable-forward future.

The overall effect The Chefs Garden has on a salad is akin to the Wizard of Oz on the film industry (the first full length color motion picture). The lettuces, flowers, herbs, & vegetables have been operating in high definition while the rest of the produce landscape feels pretty dim.
